This scene is from the film ‘Chitralekha’, which was released in 1941. It was directed by Kidar Sharma and its music was scored by Jhande Khan. The lady in the picture is actress Mehtab, who later married producer-director-actor Sohrab Modi.The reason why this scene created a storm of controversy in 1941 was that Mehtab was shown bathing in the nude. Those were conservative times and the people were shocked by this scene.
