Need further information on yesteryear Indian actress Purnima
Purnima in Aurat (1953)
Purnima was a popular side heroine in Hindi films from late 40s to 50s. She appeared in many films including Patanga (1949), Jogan (1950), Sagai (1951), Jaal (1952), Aurat (1953) etc. There are unconfirmed rumors floating around that she is present day star Emraan Hashmi’s aunt or grandmother, which we are not able to confirm. I was surprised to find her in a grandmother’s role (Saira Ji’s) in Bairag (1976, last film of Dilip Ji as – 54 year old – hero!). She looked almost the same! Perhaps this was her last film….?
No, Bairaag wasn’t her last film. She continued working even after Bairaag.

As far as I know, Purnima was a Bohri ( like Gohar) and she was the special “lady” of Bhagwandas Verma who made films like Patanga, Badal, Sagai, all having her in a major role.

with regard to your information about actress Poornima, i like to state that the actress is actually Mahesh Bhatt’s aunt-maasi. This Bhatt saab has quotes in many of his stories about his painful childhood and how his film Zakhm was born, his relationship with his father.
Purnima was the first wife of flim journalist, director, actor, Shaukat Hashmi, who laterly migrated to lahore. Hashmi sahab wrote a wonderful book name “Yeh Pari Chehra Log” in january 1956. He died in 1995 in Lahore. Can anyone tell me is she (purnima)still alive ?

Purnima’s first film was Sreegouranga which was released in 1933. Her last film as an actress was Yashwant which was realsed in 1997. In between she acted in “Naam” and “Phool Aur Kantay” as well
