Nasreen

Real name Zarina Agha, Nasreen was the daughter of actress Anwari and actor/music-director Rafique Ghaznavi, and mother of singing-star Salma Agha. She was cast as the leading lady in two pre-partition films Shahjehan (1946) and Ek Rooz (1947). She migrated to Pakistan after partition and married a wealthy carpet dealer in Karachi. One of her step-sisters Zahira became first wife of director/script-writer Zia Sarhady. Another step-sister Shahina was seen in few Pakistani films, mostly in supporting roles. Nasreen died in 2004.
