Being the daughter of Shamshad Bai Ji, great classical singer (also actress in some Hindi and Punjabi films? I think it was her in Heer Sayal, 1937), she was naturally a great singer, one of my most favourite, also an outstanding actress and a dazzling beauty. Peace be to her soul. She did a lot of early films for Sohrab Modi Ji. She, and some more legendary singing stars (who are my favourite) Sheela Ji, Menaka Ji, Sardar Akhtar Ji, and sometimes Meena Shorey Ji (a great singer herself) and Khan Mastana Ji used to appear in most of his films, at least one of them.
