Jugnu had a story,slightly ahead of its time.On this story,there was a hot discussion between Baburao Patel(Filmindia Editor)and Shaukat.Patel warned Shaukat not to instigate him,but Shaukat dared him to do what he wanted.Patel,who was very friendly with Morarji Desai-the then Chief Minister of Bombay-,picked up the phone and complained Desai that 'these days a picture called Jugnu is spoiling young Indians morally.' Desai saw the film same day and Jugnu was banned in Bombay for a period.
