Aayey khushi kai zamaney – Munawwar Sultana singing for Master Ghulam Haider in Akeli (1951)
Enjoy the forgotten melody from Pakistani film Akeli (1951). One of the last films composed by Master Ghulam Haider.

Thanks a lot for sharing! Hope to see much more of such rare stuff and songs as well.
In fact, I think there was a popular Tamil song of mid 1950s, with an almost same tune – O Rasikkum Seemane (meaning something like Oh dear who takes delight). If I’m right, this was by famous south Indian singing star P. Bhanumati Ji.
Santosh Ji was a very good and handsome actor. Ragini Ji was a gorgeous and very talented actress. A known list of singers who gave her playback:
1. Zeenat Begum Ji (most popular and in my opinion best for her)
2. Shamshad Begum Ji
3.Umraozia Begum Ji
4. Rajkumari Dubey/Banaraswali Ji
5. Kalyani Das Ji
6. Hamida Bano Ji
7. Munawar Sultana Ji (almost always in Pakistani films).
Please do inform if you know more.
In Beqaraar, Gumnaam, Akeli etc… Munawwar Sultana sang for Raagni.
In Naukar, it was Kausar Parveen who sang for her. I haven’t seen many others films of Raagini.. therefore, I can’t comment which other playback singers sang for her in Pakistani films.
Thanks for the information. Which song in Naukar of Kausar Parveen Ji was sung for her? Well, not to be taken seriously, but I don’t think her voice would really match Ragini Ji’s (even though she may be a very good singer – here a match).
I recently got a song from YouTube (Ghulam, 1953): Aaja Aaja O Balma. I think that is Kausar Parveen Ji. Could you confirm if possible? MD was, as you must be knowing, Ghulam Haider Ji (his second last film?)
Vidur,
Here is the link to the song Kausar sang for Raagini

The singer in Aaja aaja song sounds pretty much like Kausar Parveen, but I dont think she is Kausar.
Thanks for the song. Really melodious. Though, would least expect this from G. A. Chishti Ji, a patron of Munawar Sultana Ji
She sang so much for Ragini Ji and himself, and he still preferred to give her Kausar Parveen Ji playback!?
