Shammi Kapoor, a bachelor, is lured to loving the girl who is to marry Rajindernath because the latter is not in love with her. Shammi, when he sees the girl falls in love with her. Then there is lot of cooing and wooing in Kashmir between Shammi and Asha Parekh. Enters Pran as the blackmailer with Shashikala playing second fiddle to him. Shashikala lures Shammi’s brother into a love affair even though he is a married man. And then Shammi is accused of murder and being the hero he cannot be convicted and is given a clean bill.
By this time things get straightened and the lovers are united.
A routine performance is all that Shammi does. Asha Parekh dons several attires and has not much to do. Balraj Shani and Nirupa Roy maintain their reputation by doing some good acting. Pran and Shashikala are loud. Rajindernath is a poor figure.
Beautiful photography is an asset to the picture. Music is so so.
The picture goes through the routine way with nothing to boast of.
Jawan Mohabbat depicts a romance which is seen only in Hindi films without any credibility or logic.
