Miscellaneous Info - Kamlesh Kumari [not to be confused with Kamlesh Kumari Senior, Bengali actress who appeared in few Hindi films of the 1930s including Kapal Kundala (1939) and President (1937)] was introduced by Kidar Sharma in Shokhiyan (1951), opposite Premnath and Suraiya. Shokhiyan was a historical movie and depicted how Portuguese gained access to India. One of the best songs from this film “Sapna Ban Sajan Aaye” sung by Lata Mangeshkar and composed by Jamal Sen was picturized on Kamlesh. The film bombed at the box-office and she got very few film offers afterwards. Other films she appeared in were Jalianwala Baag Ki Jyoti (1953), Maan (1954) and Samrat (1954), before she disappeared into oblivion.
