Miscellaneous Info - Azurie was perhaps the first dancer who gained immense popularity in Hindi films. It was because of her that dancers became necessary ingredients in Indian/Pakistani films separate from heroines (That is especially true from 1930s to 1970s, after 1970s dancers/vamps slowly started to fade away and heroines became all in one show). It is said that famous 1940s/1950s dancer Cuckoo was greatly inspired by her dances and modeled herself after Azurie.
