Miscellaneous Info – Daljeet Puri’s real name was Jogendra Puri. He was born of a Hindu Kshatriya family in Sialkot on September 17th, 1931. Soon after passing intermediate examination he came to Bombay, the Mecca of film aspirants, and sought the help of H.S. Kwatra to join the screen. The latter cast him in his Punjabi picture ‘Koday Shah’, in which he showed promise. Daljeet made his first appearance on the Hindi screen in ‘Laila’, made by Shah Pictures. Daljeet was mostly seen in Costume/Tarzan/Stunt films and very few mainstream Hindi films.

Later, his son, Satyajeet Puri also became a popular child artiste and acted in hit films including Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) (Contributed by Sudarshan Talwar).
